Korean Popcorn Chicken
Ingredients
- 680 g boneless, cut into 1 in pieces
- 4 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 120 ml potato starch
- 60 ml gochujang
- 27 g brown sugar
- 42 g honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 5 cloves garlic
- 14 g butter
Instructions
-
Do a bowl of chicken thighs, add soy sauce and egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Give it a mix and then pour in potato starch.
-
You can use cornstarch, but this gets way crispier.
-
And I'm not deep frying anything I don't need to at home, so add to an air fryer at 400 for 20 minutes. Shake it halfway through.
-
For the sauce, gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, ketchup, a squeeze of honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, and grated garlic. Give it a mix, and let it simmer for a few minutes.
-
Finish it with some butter, and once glossy, pour in your chicken.
-
Give it one last good mix, and that's a recipe you need to know.
