Prep 10m
Cook 40m

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 fillet or pork loin for 4 people (800 g)
  • 50 cl of hot water
  • 2 chicken stock cubes
  • 1 tablespoon of ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon of four-spice mix (clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, and pepper)
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 30 sugar pieces (colour does not matter)
  • 5 cl of water
  • 1 yellow onion

Instructions

  1. Cut the pork into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Heat 50 cl of water. Add the two chicken stock cubes, 1 tablespoon of ground ginger, 1 tablespoon of four-spice mix and 3 tablespoons of soy sauce.

  3. In a frying pan, make your caramel using the sugar and water.

  4. Once the caramel is ready, add the stock and stir quickly to dissolve the caramel (which will harden) into the stock.

  5. Once the caramel is dissolved, add the meat and the chopped onion and cook over high heat. Reduce until all the liquid has evaporated (about 25 min) and the meat is well mixed with the thick caramel-spice mixture.

  6. Serve and enjoy!
